My best experience has been buying from reputable companies online. As far as buying and selling I would recommend Craig's List since you can actually meet the buyer/seller and there are no fees. I purchased a big screen TV for $40, Wii Guitar Hero for $10, etc.. Went to the seller location and picked it up in person paid cash. I have sold some items on there too, very easy to deal with. The only real down side is you are buying and selling locally unless searching outside your area.

that works great for the new market, but the original idea for ebay was an auction (not a store), for 2nd hand items. Also tends to not work if you say live in the boonies of montana----
I have been working on getting the last few cosy fieps I missed--I have used ebay to get most of them since they were discontinued in the late '80's...and many of the sellers are overseas.....I have never gotten a bad one, and now am only missing one to complete my collection. The collectibles market is what ebay was set up for originally--not new items. It changed over time to include these, and now is probably half and half (I have been using ebay since 1998--it was only a few years old at that time, and not very many users). There are many sellers now that I have on my favorites list --they have new stuffed toys and when they get a just released, they will contact me first to offer them to me at the reg retail price (or below).
Its a good service, it does have its problems (as we mentioned).....but its not what I would use to buy, say the next harry potter movie--go to walmart or best buy!
I sometimes use ebay for price ideas..what should this item cost, and for items that I cant find locally--and a google search comes up bleh.
so it really depends on what you expect from it, what you want to get, etc.
(and no I dont work for ebay... there customer service SUCKSSS big time, and yeah, aint located in the usa--so good american jobs moved out of the country!)

I've had mostly success with ebay but now I solely used Amazon. eBay is great, but like MMO said, I usually only bought from the big "stores". I always checked sellers feedback before buying. I was only burned once but I was able to file a dispute and get my money back. I still prefer amazon though.
Rained pretty much all day yesterday. Not supposed to rain again for a while. It is cooler out though which is great. Though because it is getting later in the year I am up before the sun is up... I'm usually gone as the sun is coming up. Kinda depressing really.

I dont like amazon...they recently changed shippers---they now use an unknown shipper--its not ups, fed ex, dhl-----and the last thing I preordered (harry potter dvd) was SUPPOSED to be shipped the day it came out????, they waited until the following tuesday and then it took until saturday to get here (lucky for me it came by usps or I would have had to wait until the next monday)....I could have walked to a walmart and back and had it before they even thought about shipping.
the last package I got from them it said I had signed for it---I wasnt even HOME when it came (hubby signed for it...our initials arent even close).
amazon is ok for books and that's about it (stuff that can be sent via usps and that you dont care when you get)
ah pwnd is learning about cabin fever (when you never see the sun for 5 or 6 months)..I used to have a job that I left while it was dark and when I got out of work it was dark too---and it was in a warehouse so no windows.

Really? I'm still getting my packages from them via UPS... Wonder if it is just for your area then.
I still see the sun. I have windows in my room at school and I am home before the sun goes down. But the sun comes up at like 6:45 and goes down at like 7:15... WTF. Where is the sun going? Does it have a date? Srsly...

No I won't talk about the weather. Since the weather is such irrelevant, mundane, and limited conversation to have. Unless you live in Hawaii, where they have an absence of weather. Technically a volcano has to erupt for their climate to change.
Food on the other hand is quite broad and has no limits as there is no limit to what some people are willing to eat. Twinkies do come to mind... but I make my own the store twinkie is just too plastic. Tonight I made some Chicken and Sausage Gumbo.
Also I found the forum allows us to post pics, so I posted 8 pics of my vacation up north on my profile today.

guess you dont live in a place that gets a blizzard in the winter, hurricanes in the summer, and rain in between?
the weather is a subject for conversation when it affects just about anything you have planned for the day (unless you live in say hawaii where its always hot and sunny).
hm, pwnd...perhaps it is just my area...but still not happy about the delays they have in getting out pre-ordered items....so I will only buy books for them.

I do like my seasons. They are kinda fun. Though sometimes they get old... I'm lookin' at you winter!
I don' blame you. I'd be ticked about a delayed order as well.

If you think about it we really don't need weather. What are the basic needs to survive? Food, shelter, and sex. We need food to eat and stay alive and sex to reproduce but we only need shelter to protect us from.... dah dah DUM... the weather. Yes we would be better off without it.

You do not seem to recognize the most powerful force on Earth. Weather can bring the strongest to their knees in a matter of seconds. Having
survived a major blizzard, a Cat1 and Cat2 hurricane, an F1 or F2 tornado
and many very ferocious northeasters you learn to respect and admire the power of weather.

yep, rr knows what he speaks....the east coast has some of the worst weather you can imagine. (having grown up in the mid west I can imagine some preettty bad weather--but we usually didnt have hurricanes).
we LIKE to talk about the weather, really we do. (we arent really allowed to talk about the s word so that leaves us with food and shelter--both of which can really be affected by the weather as well).
so hand me my cane and hearing aid and lets get talkin'

But they like to keep it to small talk about food and for some reason the weather.
I am sitting here on the desktop playing with my neutrinos. Confusing and confounding those Swiss <-- that's what they look like haha! Also producing energy in living cells and drinking coffee. The hardest part by far is the drinking coffee part.
So it is an average Saturday for me, but now on to the food issue and menu of the day. Breakfast will consist of cheese omelets and a side of turkey bacon. Lunch will be some of my left over Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. Dinner will be Spaghetti. For supper, I think Chinese food? I don't know yet.
Did you know, in one year an average family of four consumes 600 lbs Wheat, 100 lbs Flour, 100 lbs Corn Meal, 100 lbs Oats, 200 lbs Rice, 100 lbs Pasta, 16 lbs Shortening, 8 gal Vegetable Oil, 8 qts Mayonnaise, 4 qts Salad Dressing, 16 lbs Peanut Butter, 120 lbs Beans, 20 lbs Lima Beans, 40 lbs Soy Beans, 20 lbs Split Peas, 20 lbs Lentils, 12 lbs Honey, 160 lbs Sugar, 12 lbs Brown Sugar, 4 lbs Molasses, 12 lbs Corn Syrup, 12 lbs Jams, 24 lbs Fruit drink powdered, 4 lbs Flavored Gelatin, 240 lbs Dry Milk, 48 cans Evaporated Milk, 4 lbs Baking Powder, 4 lbs Baking Soda, 2 lbs Yeast, 20 lbs Salt, 2 gal Vinegar, and 60 gal Water to wash it all down?

uhm...no...but I think you would need to change those lima beans (which I have never had one of) to more pasta for my family...as well as deleting the jam, fruit drinks and gelatin (never could get my hubby to eat jello)....and put more water and potatoes in for those.
scythe! long time---did you get the rain you wanted??? (I believe that was where we had left off at last time----)
today is pink day....

I'm not much for random stats... Just sayin'.
Sup scythe. Nice to see an old face pop in to say hello.
And like that, we are back to weather. It is cooling off here which is fantastic. Went for a run this morning when it was like 40 degrees out. Wonderful. I love running in cool weather.
Today is pink day? I thought EVERY day was pink day... Oh shucks...
